Becoming an ERA Producer: Simple Steps to Compliance

Ready to fulfil your role as a Producer under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulations?

Here’s how to sign up to our Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment and Lighting (WEEEL) Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Scheme:

STEP 1
Become a formal WEEEL Producer

Register as a WEEEL Producer on the SAWIC database with the DFFE here  and receive your unique Producer number.

STEP 2
Register + Sign up as a Member
  • Complete ERA's Membership Registration form with your details (such as Company Information; Contact Person/s; Financial Compliance Information; and Current WEEEL Recycling).
  • Sign the Membership Agreement and review incorporation.
  • Pay the membership fee annually based on a full year’s product weight.
  • Post Registration you will receive: The ERA NPC memorandum of Incorporation and The Master Membership Agreement for your records.
STEP 3
Ongoing reporting for compliance

Place on Market Reporting - you will need to share old reports and meet ongoing reporting requirements for forecasting:

  • Share average Place on Market data for the last two years.
  • Choose quarterly/monthly reporting via the Portal.
STEP 4
EPR Fee Payments

These fees are calculated based on market data supplied by member producers, and aggregated in our data system. You’ll be required to confirm and pay the invoice from Independent Internal Auditors on a quarterly basis.

Quarterly Compliance Certificates: After making your payments, you will receive your Compliance Certificate.
